Focus Of The Week
I thought Monday’s would be a great day to set a focus for the week. So, I am thinking this week we do the focus of changing perspective.
Sometimes when I am at work and I am serving, and know I have done a really good job at taking care of a table, and someone doesn’t tip I get angry. Instantly I feel this rage inside of me and I get so upset. Instead of staying in that place of resentment I try and see it from a different perspective. Perhaps that person may have not even been able to afford to go out but he wanted to hang out with his friends, or maybe he is behind in his bills and is trying to take care of his whole family. Who actually knows what’s happening for that person.
I was at an acting workshop yesterday and one of the speakers was talking about how one morning you may miss your stop on the skytrain. Well, you can either freak out about it, tell yourself how stupid you are, or you can go to your next stop and be like “Wow, I’ve never been here before! What an adventure.” There is always a different way to look at a situation.
A shift in perception can make a huge difference in the rest of your day. So, that’s the focus I am putting out for the week for anyone reading this, myself included!
