The Secret - Law of Attraction
Ever since I got sober I started connecting to spirituality. I was and still am on this spiritual quest to find who I am and the real meaning of life. I have found the more s piritually connected I am, the easier it is for me to stay sober, and enjoy being sober.
I was on the phone with my sponsor earlier today and she was saying she loves how I am so consistent with my meditations and prayers. She said usually newcomers in sobriety have the hardest time with spiritual stuff and find going to meetings way easier. I am the opposite :P, I love meetings when I do go to them, but I also try and convince myself of every excuse why I can’t make it to one. She said that I inspire her to dig even deeper to connect to her spiritual self. That made me feel pretty good.
I wanted to share some of my personal stories over the last week of how crazy the law of attraction can be; and how when you are spiritually connected, you can pretty much steer your life toward anything you want. I honestly find it almost humorous as to how crazy it is that this stuff works. It’s insane because the law of attraction seems too surreal to be this simple. Let me tell you, it takes practice, it isn’t easy, but it is simple.
I wanted to share some of the resources I have been using if anyone is looking to become more spiritually connected. Gabby Bernstein is an amazing spiritual coach and mentor. I have found her meditations to be the most beneficial and strongest to feel, let alone experiencing almost immediate results. I also just started listening to the audio book, “The Secret.” For those that don’t remember, it’s all about the law of attraction (there is a movie about it too). I remember when I was a little girl my Mom put the movie on for me. For some reason I was drawn to listening to it again these last few weeks and already I am feeling way more abundant and prosperous.
Last Saturday I was feeling super depressed over my break up. I was constantly obsessing about whether I can still be with “this guy”. Nothing seemed to be changing to bring us back together though. I did one of Gabby Bernstein’s meditations called “Visualization.” I wanted to get out of my head and stop obsessing about this relationship. I wanted to realize there are other people out there. I am not ready to date another person yet, but I wanted to get out of this obsessive thought pattern that he was the only guy out there for me. So, I did this meditation and then went to work.
I am a server (I have worked at my job for over a year) and I kid you not, on this evening four guys asked for my number! Another tipped me $70 on top of a $30 bill, and another customer asked to speak to my manager to tell him how good of a job I was doing. I’m not saying this to toot my own horn, I couldn’t believe it. I mean, was my ex angry enough to send these guys in to see what I would do? Even my manager asked me what I was doing! I was like, “Honestly. It was my meditation!” He looked at me like I was crazy; and I was like, “No seriously. This is insane!” He even wrote a high-performance review on me at the end of the night.
I started listening to the audio book of The Secret around the same time I was finding that my visa bill just hadn’t been getting paid off the way I planned. Yes, debt was accumulating. I wasn’t having as much income coming in as I would like. Every Monday when I was going into work, I had the mindset of “it’s going to be slow and I’m not going to make any tips.” I would stress about this and feel it all of Monday. Well, this week I decided to listen to the audio book and the chapter on money. I went into work with a very positive mindset, feeling good. Before I even went into work, I decided that I would be cut at 9pm, meaning they would send me home because they don’t need as many people when business is slow. As well, I had a few things I needed to get done and I didn’t want to have to be there till 12:30am.
Nevertheless, I go into work and I keep getting great tables who did a fair amount of ordering; in fact, my sales were way more than anyone else for the short time I was there. Then to my surprise I got cut at 8:58pm! I was like, “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!!” I even went and told my manager, laughing mind you, “I manifested the shit out of this!” I am pretty sure he thought I was a little crazy, but it’s just so bizarre that this happened right after I put it out “into the universe”. Even though I believe in the law of attraction, I am still so surprised when it happens. It’s such a magical feeling because it just confirms you can create anything you want in this world, when you really believe it, and feel it. I am excited to see what else I can manifest using its principles. ;)
